Gifs with shapes.

This is how your gif will look like:

1. Create or open your gif, you can learn how to make them here

2. Add some coloring, I am using it from this psd pack

3. Now, create a new layer, and drag it to the bottom.

4. Choose the shape tool (U) in the toolbar, select the shape you want your gif to have.

5. I chose a circle, so press shift to make sure your circle is equal and draw it.

6. Obvioulsy, the circle is not visible because it is at the bottom, so now choose all the rest of the frames (Shift+Click to the layers) and go to Layer> Create Clipping Mask

And there you have it! Easy and simple, that’s how you get your gif to have a shape :)

fangnation asked: "Hello! How are you? I just read and did your step by step tutorial on tweening to get a fading effect with the next frame. I did this with a current animated gif that I have but all I get are copies with checkered background. What am I doing wrong? Would you mind helping me with this whenever you can?"

Make sure when the tweening options display, to check position and opacity, that way you’ll get the tween :)

simplecrazylife asked: "Why i can't open my video in photoshop? "Cannot complete the document because it is not the right thing of document? :( I'm using cs3, can you help me?"

Maybe it isn’t in MP4 format, because Photoshop doesn’t accept any others, review that :)

Using textures in your edits and graphics

This is the final result:

This is how the picture looked like before

1. Download this textures pack 6, find it here

2. Extract it with WinZip, you can get it here

3. Open the picture you want to edit, don’t apply any kinds of coloring

4. I chose texture 6 from the pack, but you can use any other you wish. Open it on Photoshop

5. Drag the texture to your image, go to layer effects and set it on screen.

6. Choose your image layer, duplicate it and drag it to the bottom, in layer effects, choose soft light, it will make your picture more bright and with more contrast

7. New Adjustment Layer> Curves. Dot 1 Output: 78 Input: 102. Dot 2 Output: 178 Input: 182.

8. Save it!

We have a really cute effect in very few steps huh?
